My bf and I visited for lunch. No wait because we chose to sit at the bar. To start, we shared the Fennel and Citrus Salad. It was fine, but not a hearty salad by any means. More fennel and citrus than arugula. For some, it might be underwhelming. I ordered the Bucatini All' Amatriciana because I heard their pasta was made fresh. Loved. The sauce was amazing and the pasta was the perfect texture. My bf got the Fried Chicken Sandwich for the truffle honey aioli. It was good but it lacked a kick to it. But it came with a side salad. For $17 in SF, we'd say it's worth it. Service was nice. Ambience was on-brand for an establishment surrounded by corporate businesses.

Went to Barbacco for SF restaurant week and really enjoyed our food and portion sizes. We had a reservation but we're still seated at the bar- (definitely would've preferred a table). The food was unique and delicious, the chefs adding fun twists to make the meal special. My partner got a glass of white wine and was offered to taste a couple to decide. The one they chose was perfect and exactly what they were looking for. Would only go back if I was in the neighborhood

Visited Barbacco for lunch on a weekday with the team. We had reservations about being seated was a breeze. We were sat in the front of the restaurant in a large booth by the front window. Service was friendly and efficient for the most part. We ordered a bottle of wine for our table which didn't arrive for over 10 min which I would say was the only service miss as the food started arriving before our wine did. We all ordered our own entrees with some apps to share. We shared the meatballs and fennel and citrus salad. For my personal entree, I got the orecchiette which came with spiced fennel pork sausage, cavoloI nero, and pecorino romano. I enjoyed my dish; it was generously portioned with a savory, lightly spicy flavor. I also enjoyed the meatball appetizer, which came with 3 large meatballs and a slice of bread. I would recommend sharing this with no more than 2-3 people. It did seem there were some mixed opinions about the food from our party. A few people got sandwiches but it seems they were less popular when compared to the pasta so I would definitely recommend the pasta menu!

Cozy, comforting Italian eats for a team work lunch on a cold, rainy day! We were seated for our reservation right away and ordered a bottle of Italian Barbera. Cin Cin! To start we shared: FENNEL AND CITRUS SALAD - onion - arugula - chili - lemon and honey mustard vinaigrette *I really enjoyed the harmony of flavors in this light and vibrant salad. Love me some citrus zing! POLPETTE - spicy sicilian pork meatballs - pine nuts - raisins - tomato sugo - braised chard *I'm biased and measure all meatballs against those of my Grandma and Mom. Our group seemed to enjoy these. I loved the tomato sugo and the addition of the chard, but prefer less finely ground meatball without raisins. Just my personal preference. If you know you like a traditional Sicilian meatball, you'll probably like these. For mains: A few colleagues tried the eggplant and prosciutto sandwiches (only available at lunch, I think), but they wished they'd tried the pastas. My pasta dish seemed to be the biggest hit: BUCATINI ALL'AMATRICIANA - tomato sugo with guanciale - calabrian chili - onions - garlic - pecorino romano *I loved the perfectly cooked pasta and well-balanced tomato sugo, with added flavor punches from the guanciale and chili. My colleague ordered the same dish and took half of hers home, but I licked my bowl clean! Barbacco is the casual sister to Perbacco next door. I'm thankful for the delicious Italian treats and would happily return.
